Abuse reporting
Here, we explain the steps to report spam emails received through an MDirector user. Learn about our Spam policy and best practices to avoid being flagged as spam. Together we can make a better inbox for everyone.
MDirector works hard to prevent abuse of our service by spammers and we take every case very seriously. Unwanted, abusive, or spam emails violate our Anti-Spam Policy and Terms of Use. To ensure compliance with these standards, we have a dedicated team that monitors the submission practices of MDirector users and takes action if misconduct is identified.
Despite our efforts, spammers have evolved their strategies and seek to create emails that increasingly resemble legitimate messages from people and brands you trust. On rare occasions, a spammer may be able to evade our controls.

MDirector Anti-Spam Policy
At MDirector, we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful email marketing platform, and we strongly oppose spamming. Our Antispam Policy is intended to ensure that all of our users comply with applicable laws and regulations, and that they respect the rights and privacy of email recipients. Below are our guidelines and policies to ensure a positive email experience for everyone.
Spam Definition
Spam refers to any email sent to individuals who have not given their explicit and direct permission to contact them about the specific subject of the email.
Consent and permission
At MDirector, we believe in the power of consent and permission to send email. All emails sent through our platform must be based on the prior and explicit consent of the recipient. This means that recipients must have consented to receive emails and have provided their email address voluntarily.
This consent can be obtained in a variety of ways: through newsletter subscription forms on a website, opt-in checkboxes on forms, or explicit consent given during offline activities such as surveys or contests. Subscribers can also be asked for such consent and validation of their email by sending a welcome email.
Email addresses not allowed
Sending emails to email addresses for which you do not have the explicit permission of the recipient or have not given their consent is not allowed. This includes email addresses acquired from third parties, without fulfilling an acquisition legitimately and with the proper permission of the recipients.
The acquisition of email lists must be done in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union.
In addition, the use of addresses obtained by extracting or copying information from the web is not allowed, since the publication of an email address does not imply that they wish to receive messages from you.
You should also not send emails to people you haven’t interacted with by email in the last 2 years, as they may have changed their email address or don’t remember giving their permission in the first place.
Content and labeling
All the content of your emails sent from MDirector must be clear, relevant and respectful. Submission of offensive, defamatory, illegal or misleading content is not allowed. Additionally, you must appropriately label your emails to indicate their promotional nature, if applicable.
Your communications sent through MDirector must provide a visible, one-click unsubscribe or unsubscribe link in the communications. MDirector instantly removes subscribers who unsubscribe from your list. Once a subscriber unsubscribes, you must stop sending them newsletters, unless they decide to subscribe again. Find out how the automatic management of unsubscribes and bounces works here.
Unsubscribe Procedure
MDirector reserves the right to suspend the account immediately and carry out an investigation, if a user of our platform carries out the following situations when sending email campaigns:
- There is evidence of a high percentage of spam complaints (more than 0.2%) or bounces (more than 5%)
- Unsubscribes (more than 1%) or a low open rate (less than 3%) are identified
- A high percentage of shipments belong to generic emails or role-accounts (10%).
- Hits against spam-traps are detected.
- It checks for sending emails without permission.
MDirector may ask its users to prove that they have the permission of their recipients and take actions based on it. If you have the permissions, the account will be reactivated and you can use the service again.
Cooperation with authorities
MDirector fully cooperates with authorities and complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding the sending of email. If we receive a valid request from a competent authority related to an email sent through our platform, we will cooperate by providing the necessary information and assistance to fulfill such request.
By using MDirector to send email, you agree to abide by our Anti-Spam Policy. We reserve the right to modify or update this policy at any time to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. If you have any questions or concerns about our Antispam Policy, please do not hesitate to contact our team at soporte@mdirector.com. We are here to help you and ensure a safe and effective Email Marketing experience for everyone.
Tips to avoid spam complaints
The best ways to prevent your emails from being marked as spam are:
- Set up a custom domain. This ensures that the sender details clearly mention the company from which the email is being sent.
- Set up a custom URL for links in the body of your communications.
- Keep a list based on the explicit commitment of your subscribers, make use of single and double opt-in.
- Never buy, rent or borrow subscriber lists if they are not based on the explicit consent of the recipients, as they may contain spam traps.
- Use subscription confirmation/validation to avoid fake registrations, bots, and misspellings that promote sending your emails to places where they are not wanted.
- Keep content relevant using personalization and dynamic content.
- Let subscribers know how often you will send emails.
- Don’t overwhelm your subscribers with too many emails.
- Don’t send too few emails either, as this can result in subscribers not remembering they signed up or subscribed to your communications.
